Roles and Responsibility:
- Architect and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance data pipelines and systems.
- Guide the selection and implementation of modern data stack tools (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, dbt).
- Lead the design of data models, schemas, and data governance frameworks.
- Define and enforce coding standards, best practices, and quality assurance processes.
- Mentor and coach a team of data engineers; support their technical and professional growth.
- Manage task allocation, sprint planning, and delivery for the data engineering team.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure data accessibility and usability.
- Lead technical discussions, solution design, and architecture reviews.
- Ensure data systems are reliable, monitored, and fault-tolerant.
- Oversee performance tuning, cost optimization, and scaling of data infrastructure.
- Implement CI/CD, data testing, and deployment pipelines for data code.
- Champion data privacy, security, and compliance initiatives (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC2).
Skill Requirement:
Must-Have:
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering.
- Expertise in SQL, Python, and distributed data frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Flink, Kafka).
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud-native data tools.
- Proven ability to design and implement scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, warehousing, lake house architecture, and governance.
- Experience managing or mentoring a technical team.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience with tools such as Airflow, dbt, Terraform, or Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of real-time data processing and streaming platforms.
- Familiarity with business intelligence and data visualization tools.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
